Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Bookings: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/youth-mental-health-first-aid-course-tickets-85990874019 (Option Two: Course over two full days in February 2020)

Outline

Free Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Due to the large interest in the YMHFA courses previously delivered within Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, additional courses are now available which are tailored to fit around commitments of school staff. Based on feedback received from Senior Leadership Teams in schools, course one will run over four evening sessions, and course two will run in the February half term.

Description

This is an opportunity for free training which is open to all staff working in state funded schools and colleges within Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. The Thrive LDN YMHFA two-day course will equip school/college staff (working with children and young people aged 8-18) with the knowledge, skills and confidence to identify and assist young people experiencing mental health issues on a first aid basis.
Each school and college are encouraged to have a minimum of two Youth Mental Health First Aiders. To qualify as a Youth Mental Health First Aider, members of staff will need to attend both days of a two-day training course (dates below).

YMHFA training courses are designed to promote early intervention and support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in schools/colleges. As a result, children and young people are better able to get the support they need at the earliest opportunity.
